| Vacation Enjoyed in Hui
Sun Forest, Health and Happiness Brougth Home Hui Sun forest, with
7,477 ha in area situated at Nantou county, Taiwan approximately 65km
northeastern from Taichung is the biggest one
among 4 experimental forests of this National Chung
Hsing University. Due to 2000m altitude differences here in HuiSun, forest
is longitudinally scattered between peak and valley, so the main features of
the climate can be divided into 3 regions the hot, the warm and the
subtropical climates. Each region has its own
adaptive plants which consist of varieties of vegetation.
The apparent varieties of plants in the above 3 regions resulted in
multi-variety ecological system. Due to the recent economic
booming and industry progress in Taiwan, people desire to enjoy a
sort of quiet, natural and comfortable life in some forest
recreation areas, for their vacation. In order to meet the
popular resort in forest, Hui Sun has planned a 1567 ha forest recreation
area and offer the tourists some expectationsin ecology and forest
management.
The chief purpose of Hui Sun forest is to facilitate faculties and students
carrying out their research and experiments. Based
on this assumption, the knowledgeable tour in forest becomes the main
expectation since the forest recreation activities began to
operate in 1978. All accommodations must follow the scenery and
environment protection standards by which we can prevent the scene of
forest from deterioration.
Additionally we have also embellished the Hui Sun forest recreation area
with the scene and forest site kept as natural as
possible. It is now urgently necessary for us to promote the ecological
conservation for the tourists and foresters after the
terrible earthquake occurred on September 21 the 1999 in central
Taiwan. At the same time, we have offered more interpretation and further
information about ecology which will cultivate the
tourists to love forest and nature fervently.
Above all, HuiSun earnestly welcomes such tourists as being indulgent to the

〉〉〉《Shanan Trail》
It is the right time to watch the birds in
the early morning of sparkling dew
droplet. Obviously the forest trail near
the Service Center is the within easy
access of bird-watching for you.
《Sihwufongshan Trail》
You can see the falling needle pine
leaves and step on the bulky fallen
pine leaves litter layer cozily. In the
meantime, you can look into the
scenery of Pei-Kan River , nursery
and grass lands.
《Duhchuanling Trail》
Entrance of this forest trail alongside different varieties of
azalea
is by the small wooden cabin.
Tourist may enjoy the pleasure of walking and relaxation in it.
《Tang's monument》 《Green Shower Trail》
If you want to challenge to your physical strength and
patience,
walk the Green Shower Trail. You can enjoy miscellaneous
forest compositions and see the Tang's monument erected
in 1967 in memory of the former principal Hui Sun Tang at
the end of this trail.
《Frog Rock Trail》
Walk down the gravel stairway to scenery-view pavilion in which
you can see the miraculously carved Frog Rock amid the running
river water all the year round.

2 hrs to walk for a 2.5 km gentle slope trail (one way)
Green Shower Trail
2 hrs to walk (round trip) for a gentle slope, you
can enjoy the miscellaneous forest compositions
alongside China fir, Hinoki false- cypress, Chinese
Guger tree and Taiwan Incense-cedar forests
can be seen here. Six hours to walk for 7.5 km
steep trail (round trip).
